Pickup Location: Your hotel/residence Transport: 4WD vehicle or van (especially during rainy season) What to Bring: Water, snacks, sunscreen, hat, camera, hiking boots, light jacket🕗 8:00 AM – Arrival at Base of Yerer Mountain
Short briefing by guide (if applicable) Light warm-up and prepare hiking gear🕣 8:30 AM – Begin Hike up Yerer Mountain
Route: Moderate trail with occasional steep patches Sights: Highland forest and open moorlands Wildflowers (seasonal) Bird species like Lammergeier and Augur Buzzard Possible sightings of colobus monkeys or hyenasDuration: ~2–2.5 hours ascent
🕚 11:00 AM – Summit Experience
Reach summit (~3,100m) Take photos, relax, enjoy panoramic views over the Rift Valley and Addis Ababa in the distance Short meditation or quiet reflection time🕦 11:30 AM – Begin Descent
Take an alternate scenic route if available Enjoy more wildlife and local flora along the trail🕛 1:00 PM – Return to Base & Picnic Lunch
