Description: Begin your tour at the iconic Meskel Square, a central point in the city and site of many cultural and political gatherings. Take photos and learn about the history of the square and the nearby Red Terror Martyrs’ Memorial Museum.
Optional: Visit the Red Terror Museum (30 min) to understand the Derg regime and Ethiopia’s recent history.
🕘 9:30 AM – Walk to Holy Trinity Cathedral (15–20 min walk)

Route: Walk down from Sidist Kilo to Arat Kilo, then onward to Piassa
Highlights: Old Italian architecture, cafés, local markets
Optional Stop: St. George Cathedral (if time and energy allow)
Tip: Stop at Tomoca Coffee in Piassa – Ethiopia’s oldest and most beloved coffeehouse.

Highlights: One of Africa’s largest open-air markets
Note: Can be overwhelming; go with a local guide or stay in the safer outer shopping areas

Location: Traditional Ethiopian restaurants with cultural music and dance
